Punyadham Ashram, Pune (Vishwa Jagriti Mission Trust, Pune) organised a sound & light play in Hindi, “Sai Satcharitra”, based on the teachings of Sai Baba of Shirdi, on Saturday, 24th March 2018, at the Punyadham Ashram. “On the eve of the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami and to announce the resplendent newly-inaugurated Sai Mandir at the ashram, we decided to host this play at the ashram’, smiles Maa Krishna Kashyap, Chairperson.
Popular film & TV actor, Mukul Nag, who wrote and directed the play also played the pivotal role of ‘Sai Baba’ in the teleserial “Sabka Malik Ek Hai”, which was telecast a decade ago on Star Plus, which was produced by Ramanand Sagar.
Sai Baba has a following from all walks of life, irrespective of caste, creed or religion, and this play attracted hundreds of Sai devotees eager to witness it.
Vishwa Jagriti Mission Trust, Pune is a non-profit organisation which runs Punyadham Ashram, primarily a Senior Citizens’ Home in a beautiful, serene campus. The premise also has a glorious Shree Siddeshwar Mahadev Mandir, a magnificent Shikhar of Mt Kailash, a resplendent newly-inaugurated Sai Mandir, a Gaushala with more than 25 indigenous breed cows, a Library, a Reading Room, and the Krishna Avataar Sanskritik Bhavan which can accommodate 3000 people at a time and is used for social, spiritual and cultural programs.
Apart from this Punyadham Ashram also conducts many social welfare activities like rehabilitation of families affected by natural calamities, sponsoring the education of deserving girls from insurgency hit areas of Maharashtra, conducting mass marriages for the families of poor and destitute farmers, conducting medical camps and motivational programs for women inmates of the Yerwada jail and so on.
